When I was a teenager I learned I was going blind from a corneal dystrophy disease, keratoconus - sometime called "blindness with light."
While in my early twenties, thanks to donated corneas, I received the gift of sight through double corneal transplants.
Twenty some-odd years later, not a day goes by that I am not reminded of and am incredibly thankful for such an amazing gift.
As a way to "pay it forward" OneMoreDonor.com was established to help increase awareness of the growing need for organ, eye and tissue donation, especially in the minority and multi-cultural populations.
I am available to speak to your church, school, company or other group or organization about organ, eye or tissue donation. Feel free to contact us for additional information by completing the form below.
Please help support our mission by enrolling in the registry to be a donor and by encouraging your family and friends to register too!
Thank you for your support!
A very special thank you to my cornea donors and to my outstanding surgeons, the late Dr. Richard C Troutman (considered by his peers to be the world's greatest corneal transplant surgeon) and
Dr. Sandra Belmont, www.BelmontEyeCenter.com.
